With Mosquito Joe, outside is fun again.
What We Do, and Our Team
Mosquito Joe provides outdoor pest control treatments to residential and commercial customers. Our technicians are trained mosquito control experts dedicated to one thing: getting rid of mosquitoes so you can enjoy being outside again. Outfitted with the latest gear and backed by the coordination of a top-notch support staff, our technicians in the field get the job done swiftly and thoroughly, leaving a noticeable absence of biting insects in their wake. Steve established his own lawn care business while still in junior high school. He took pride in maintaining clients’ yards, all while continuing to attend classes. After slow but steady growth, Steve sold his mowing & landscaping portion of the business to focus on lawn treatments. In 2014 Steve added Mosquito Joe, a mosquito control franchise to his already growing Southern Lawn and Pest business. Steve bought the Mosquito Joe franchise for one very simple reason – he hates mosquitoes. Both businesses have continued to thrive, and he has had to relocate to “bigger and better” twice in the last two years. He is a firm believer in top notch customer service, and to glorify God in all that we do. He attributes his success to hard work and God’s blessings. Steve is married with two kids, and makes sure to have quality family time despite his full schedule.
Dee Lavery, Branch Operations Manager
2018 is Dee’s fourth season with Mosquito Joe, and she is State certified in both lawn and pest. She is married with four adult children and three glorious grandchildren (she’s a little biased). Dee was born in El Paso, TX and as an Air Force brat she has lived in numerous places, including Japan and Canada. She joined the Air Force herself, and served 4 years, 3 of which were at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Dee loves to travel, and gets more than just a little stir crazy when unable to do so! She volunteers with a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus at Memphis Tiger football games, and is also a licensed vocational nurse. For two years, she was the office manager for both Mosquito Joe, and Southern Lawn & Pest. The 2017 season changed, allowing her to focus solely on Mosquito Joe. This change was a challenge that she took head-on and enjoyed thoroughly! The cherry on top was that she was awarded the first-ever franchise-wide Mosquito Joe Office Manager of the Year award for 2017.
Favorite Food: Enchiladas, or Souvlakie Favorite Music: Classic Rock, but loves to listen to live Blues Favorite Movie: The Cheap Detective Favorite Sport: Dee is not a sports fan, due largely to the fact that she is the world’s biggest klutz so was never able to participate.
Bryan Lavery, Lead Technician
2018 is Bryan’s fourth season with Mosquito Joe as a State certified technician. His hard work and long hours have earned him the title of Lead Technician. He is responsible for training new technicians, and field operations. When he is not working, Bryan enjoys playing video games, board games, and card games with his friends. Born in West Texas, he landed in Tipton County in 2009. Bryan is an Eagle Scout, and was a member of the Tipton TOTAL Youth Leadership program. He attended Dyersburg State Community College as the first student in their AIIT program. He has earned his Associate’s Degree in Advanced Integrated Industrial Technology. We congratulate him on being a trendsetter, and for achieving his goals.

Elizabeth Campbell, Technician
Elizabeth came to us in the middle of the 2017 season and passed her State certification exam almost immediately. Displaying great determination, willingness to learn, and a tremendous smile, she donned the backpack blower and took to the job like a fish takes to water! Her positive attitude is a joy to be around. Elizabeth is very close to her family, spending as much time as possible with her loved ones. She claims that she loves to sing. We haven’t been able to coax any music out of her, so listen closely and if you hear her singing while she works, please record it and send it our way!

Kimberly Hillis, Technician
2018 is Kimberly’s third season with Mosquito Joe as a State certified technician. She was our first female technician. We still chuckle when we think back on her first day. When she came back to the office after spraying all day, she was crying and miserable. We were sure she was going to tell us she was never coming back. But, she looked at us and said, “I’m going to prove to you that I can and will do this”. She sure did! Now Kimberly is our 4-leafed clover; she comes to help on weekends, Spring Break, and school holidays, so if you see her in your yard, consider yourself lucky! What makes her even more special is that she is a single parent living in Texas, so she drives for hours just to help us out! In her first year with Mosquito Joe, she wowed the customers and still has some asking for her by name. Maybe you will find this 4-leafed clover in your yard this year!

Born in Memphis, he has settled down in Tipton County with his fiancé and three kids. Zach is another tech that has no problem holding a conversation. We love our social butterflies! Zach’s focus is on Church and family, volunteering his time for his church. When not working outdoors for Mosquito Joe, he can be found outdoors working in his yard.

Another newcomer to Mosquito Joe in 2018 is Zach Lucky. He obtained his State certification even before we put him on the schedule. Now, that’s a go-getter! Zach is a Navy Brat born in New York. Right now we are seeing his quiet side. I’m sure after he has been here only briefly, we will hear more from him! Zach enjoys bonfires, skating, and shooting. Not all three at the same time, I hope! We look forward to Zach helping to make outside fun again in West Tennessee.

Wes has been a Mosquito Joe customer for several years, thus the reason his backyard is his favorite place to go to relax. It speaks volumes to have a customer think enough of us to want to work here, too! He enjoys hunting, camping, and video games.
